Crackerjack Bands and Hometown Boosters: The Story of a Minnesota Music Man

Minnesota author Joy Riggs explores the life and achievements of her great-grandfather, G. Oliver Riggs, who founded and directed community bands in Crookston, Bemidji, St. Cloud, and other towns during the first half of the 20th century. It’s a story about civic pride, community participation, and the power of music to transform lives and connect people across generations.
