Betsy-Tacy Society

Betsy-Tacy logo.png
As a young girl growing up in Mankato, Maud Hart Lovelace dreamed of becoming a writer. She followed her dream and became the author of the universally loved series of Betsy-Tacy books. The Betsy-Tacy Society was established in 1990 as a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving important local landmarks and keeping these wonderful books in print. We celebrate the spirit of the Betsy-Tacy books and the life of Maud Hart Lovelace.

Betsy's and Tacy's houses have been restored to their turn-of-the-century charm and are designated National Literary Landmarks. Betsy's House is a museum, and Tacy's house is an interpretive center and gift shop.
