Betsy-Tacy Society

As a young girl growing up in Mankato, Maud Hart Lovelace dreamed of becoming a writer. She followed her dream and became the author of the universally loved series of Betsy-Tacy books. The Betsy-Tacy Society was established in 1990 as a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving important local landmarks and keeping these wonderful books in print. We celebrate the spirit of the Betsy-Tacy books and life of Maud Hart Lovelace.

Betsy's and Tacy's houses have been restored to their turn-of-the-century charm and are designated National Literary Landmarks. Betsy's House is a museum, and Tacy's house is an interpretive center and gift shop.

All events and private tours are postponed until it is safe to allow visitors access to the homes. For more information on open hours, visit our website: www.betsy-tacysociety.org
