Doors open for the 6th Edition of the Deep Valley Book Festival

Lunch with will weaver - keynote speaker
The Writer's Life: Just When You Think You've Done It All - presented by Author Will Weaver
Will Weaver recently set aside his own writing in order to bring to life an unpublished memoir by the late and beloved Minnesota author Jon Hassler (1933-2008). Discovered in Jon's effects, Days Like Smoke: A Memoir of Childhood needed a final edit and a publisher. Will tells the touching story of helping to resurrect this lovely and late addition to Hassler's body of work.

Joseph NIcollet and the Raiders of the Lost Stone
Presented by Jason Lee Willis, author of The Alchemist's Map
What happens when a scientist goes rogue? Unlike the fictional Indiana Jones, Joseph Nicollet was a real scientist who walked away from his career in France to chase after legends and lore on the American Frontier. While the real-life exploits of Nicollet were incredible, Willis will showcase a few of the stranger aspects of Nicollet's mapping tours of Minnesota and the frontier.

Songs for families to sing along and play along! Music that reminds us parents and caregivers to slow down and remember our childhood, and music for littles to enjoy moving, singing, and playing in an emotionally safe space.
